Hey guys, I'm an upcoming junior in high school, and this is the point in my life where I'm being pressured to consider career options for the future. Finance has been a field that's always interested me, and after researching some things about investment banking, it seems like a career I'd enjoy and one that could open up other doors in the future (though this is one of the many careers I want to consider).
I live in the Dallas area, and thankfully I am in the top 1% of my class in my school. I was wondering that if I were to get accepted into McComb's Business School for college, would that be sufficient for getting an IB job? Do I need to attend a prestigious school in the north east?
One more question - Can my race be an obstacle for this career? I'm black, and I don't mean to pull the race card, I'm just wondering if this is something that I should be concerned about.
And I'm open to any advice that you have because I understand I'm very inexperienced. Thanks!
