Bentley to AM in Boston?bostonian hardoSeptember 23, 2020 - 12:43pm
I have started my first month at Bentley university as a freshman. I've joined the investment club and IB club and have started to connect on LinkedIn with Bentley alumni in Boston. My goal is to go into Asset Management in Boston and I have connections at MFS (Aunt is an associate). I wanted to ask is Bentley too non-target to get into this field and should I apply to Boston College or any other target near me? I know that at Bentley I will have to network 10x harder but is it better to be a big fish in a small pond at Bentley? or I am risking it by not transferring else where?
I went to Bentley. Don't believe what the career services have to say. Ask them the quality of the "jobs" the majority of students get. They just push students to get shitty jobs so their rankings go higher. I'd transfer out of Bentley to BC or Harvard/MIT if you work hard enough. Crap social life there anyway unless you're in a frat. Leave
I'd transfer out of Bentley if you can. So many better schools in the Boston area to pick from that will place you better in AM.
Even if you network hard and do great in your classes, some doors will just never / barely open just because of where you went to school.
