Sup monkeys,
I'm in somewhat of a situation here as I just bombed my spring semester of freshman year. I had a 3.7 GPA last fall (upper level 300s classes) and a 2.5 in the spring - mostly because the classes were extremely unchallenging and I was penalized for not showing up to class (and the fact that I am a lazy sloth might have played a part).
After some self-reflection I plan on re-taking these classes this fall and bringing my grades back up to the 3.7-8 range. However the main problem is that admission to the business school is based on first-year grades, and I've been rejected so I will have to pursue a major in Economics which has significantly inferior recruiting opportunities. Do you think it would be wise to transfer universities next year? And if so, where to?
I currently attend a non-target where the business school is a semi-target but the College of Arts & Sciences has almost no big firms recruiting from it. I'd actually prefer a major in Economics, so a school like U. Chicago would be perfect but transferring in is basically impossible.
