Hello Everyone,
Long time reader, first time poster so excuse any faux pas.
I am soliciting you all to get a realistic expectation of my future career/MBA prospects. I've been out of school for 2 years now. Spent 1.5 years in audit at a Big 4 and the last 6 months in corporate restructuring consulting at a top player (AlixPartners/Alvarez & Marsal/FTI) all in NYC. Had a 3.3 from a non-target undergrad and then a similar GPA in a masters of accounting program at a tier 2 target (think Villanova, Wake Forest, BC). I am worried that arbitrary staffing and career progression evaluation at my current firm may hold me back.
I am considering trying to move into IB, consulting focused PE shops, or possibly B-School in New York or Charlotte in the near to mid term. What are realistic options are there for me on either path and which do you all think makes the most sense?
Thanks.
